Zombie Invasion Begins

Zombie bite

Zombie bite

A New Orleans resident, Joseph Lancellotti, recently reported an attack on his person by a man whom he describes was “unintelligibly shouting”, and knocked Lancellotti in the head before taking a bite out of his arm. Joseph denies ever having seen the man before in his life, and furthermore the strange intruder exhibited many signs associated with the image of “zombies” in pop culture.

The act of biting the chunk out of Lancellotti’s arm did not slow the intruder down, Joseph says. The intruder came onto the New Orleans resident’s lawn while he was gardening, and the 67-year old man denies having done anything to aggravate the assault, let alone ever seeing the intruder in his life before the strange man appeared in his yard.

Not only did the man tear out a large chunk of the peaceful citizen’s flesh, but proceeded to “swallow it right in front of me”, he says. Once he fell to the ground due to the shock of his wound, the man/zombie continued to choke him as a nearby neighbor approached the two.

Shortly after the neighbor arrived to the scene, the perpetrator then wandered off to a nearby parked police cruiser and was promptly taken into custody.

The interesting aspect of this story is that about 45 minutes before the attack, the suspect was being treated at East Jefferson, a nearby hospital, for a wound to his finger. Whether or not the wound was the result of a bite or similar attack is unknown due to hospital patient confidentiality laws.

This deranged man clearly shows several signs of the popular culture image of a “zombie”, or flesh-eating, soulless, undead human-like being. The fact that this also occurred in New Orleans, a city flooded with water and surrounded by death as a result of Hurricane Katrina a few years back, is also disturbing given the events of this incident and the signs many believe lead up to a zombie invasion.

…We don’t honestly believe that the suspect in this attack was _really_ a zombie (unless we confirm it), but if this continues to occur then local residents may want to consider zombie-invasion procedures, such as underground shelters and a plentiful supply of guns and ammunition (the shelter can also be used as a hurricane or panic room, no less).

But if you encounter anything strange like this either in the New Orleans area or not, then be sure to take the appropriate action and report it to your local law enforcement agency. We here at The Coffee Desk take a strong stance against zombies and possible invasions, and any possible signs of one, and are hear to alert you to any of such signs we encounter.

(although, our founder and site admin Anthony does seem to function a little too well without sleep…)
