Apple Netbook In The Wild

The rumors of a netbook being developed by Apple have been circulating the Internet quite a bit recently, and upon further investigation we have confirmed a prototype being used by key Apple software developers and partners.

The development model is said to be nine or ten inches, white, and utilizing a Verizon or AT&T network connection in the same manner as a typical PC phone card. This directly correlates with known deals made recently by Apple to manufacture both LCD screens and CPU chips, the latter rumored to be of a fast and low power ARM architecture design.

No other details are known about the developmental model at this time, but our source is very reliable and is said to have been given the model for both testing and early software development by Apple. This contradicts statements made by Apple spokespersons denying any interest in the netbook market, and further pushes the utility of the ARM architecture within netbook computers.

The operating system software/firmware and specific hardware utilized by the model remains a mystery as of now, but as more details are unveiled about this mysterious prototype we will post more system specifications. We are unable to confirm whether or not the model is touch screen at this time, but it is very likely that the finished product will utilize touchscreen technology.

I guess you can’t always believe what these spokespersons are always telling you these days about upcoming products.
