Rumored Asus MeMo Pad 10 Specs, Features and Price Revealed
ASUS is currently working on a set of remarkable Androids gadgets and most of our attention is focused on the 7-inch MeMo Pad which was described as a ‘Nexus gadget’ with a $99 price tag. And while consumers are getting excited about the upcoming release of a ‘sub-$100’ gadget, information of yet another ASUS gadget gets leaked online.
The rumor mill churned out over the weekend some interesting rumors about the 10-inch ASUS MeMo Pad tablet and it included a video of the purported all-new Android device. Affordability is obviously at the top of the priority list for this still-to-confirmed ASUS Android device, although company insiders are insisting that performance will not be unduly compromised.
Not a few observers were surprised when the rumored ASUS gadget was a no-show during the recently concluded CES trade event a couple of weeks ago and pundits are again banking on a product reveal in the upcoming MWS in Barcelona, Spain next month.
The ASUS MeMo Pad 10 tablet, which carries the official model number ME301T, is rumored to be a refined and redesigned version of earlier tablets by ASUS – the Transformer Pad Infinity and the Transformer Prime. In fact, it appears to be just like its older ASUS siblings, albeit in slightly thicker configuration, in the unboxing video which was leaked just recently.
Based on the latest rumors, the ASUS MeMo Pad 10 will come out of the box with an HD IPS display which has a 1280 x 800p resolution. This is the same display found in the 7-inch ASUS MeMo Pad. It will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad core processor, the NVIDIA Tegra 3 and not the NVIDIA Tegra 4, and backed up by 1GB RAM with 16GB internal storage. According to the leaked information, the budget-friendly ASUS tablet will run on Jelly Bean Android 4.1 OS.
The ASUS device will also feature a 5MP snapper and not an 8MP camera that is usually found in other gadgets in this category. These numbers clearly indicate that it is a few steps behind the high-end brands that dominate this market segment. Being an entry-level device the 10-inch MeMo Pad tablet is rumored to have a $399 price tag. To date, ASUS has not released any official statement on the rumored device and it is definitely one of the devices that we should look out for in the upcoming MWS event.
